REVIVAL OF A LEGENDARY AMPHORA, SYMBOL OF DIOR FRAGRANCES
The cooperation between the house of Dior and the Baccarat crystal manufacturer continues today.
In 2017, to pay homage to 70 years of excellence and beauty, the house of Dior is reissuing limited editions of its finest special amphoras.
Chiseled like an exquisite piece of jewelry, the spectacular floral crown of Diorissimo shows all the passion of the Couturier-Perfumer for his beloved flowers. Designed by Christian Dior himself, the sumptuous cap was inspired by Marie-Antoinette's floral candelabra in Versailles.
Today, the house of Dior has decided to reissue 70 numbered editions of this legendary amphora as a tribute to 7 decades of excellence. A replica of the original 1956 design, this precious cap intertwines rose and jasmine in an incredibly finely gilded bouquet.
Produced using the centuries-old lost-wax technique, the cap is handcrafted in jewelry workshops. Molten metal is poured into a mold, which then releases the cooled casting to be chiseled and galvanized by expert hands.
Equally rare, the amphora is mouth-blown and hand-cut by Baccarat master craftsmen.
Luminous and delicate, the long-awaited reissue of this special bottle now holds the olfactory and floral quintessence of the house of Dior: a new interpretation of J’adore by François Demachy structured around the finest flowers in Grasse. Developed exclusively for this limited series, the composition summons Rose de Mai and Jasmine Grandiflorum, in addition to other floral absolutes, all from the Grasse terroir.
